What do zombies and Easter eggs have in common?

What do zombies and Easter eggs have in common?  Well, nothing really, but there are now zombie eggs you can create.  Nothing like a family get together with Nana and Pappy with deviled eggs and zombie eggs adorning your dining table.  I know it's a bit non-traditional, but it might get your teenagers involved in decorating eggs as a family.

Lil Ass Kicker Survival

I've often wondered how 'Lil Ass Kicker on The Walking Dead will survive a zombie apocalypse.

I think I may have found the perfect solution for the newest member of 'the prison crew'.  Do you think this contraption would help her survive?

Zombie Cologne?

You can never be too prepared for the zombie apocalypse.  The Demeter Fragrance Library has created your next survival must-have!  Anti-zombie perfume and cologne.

The fragrances, Zombie for Him and Zombie for Her, are designed to evade zombie detection (and dismembering) by masking your warm, spring-fresh, undead scent with the aroma of dried leaves, mushrooms, mildew, earth, moss and, for the ladies, dregs from the bottom of the wine barrel.

Unhappy? Participate in a zombie walk

Are you unhappy?  Apparently, according to new research, zombie fads are at an all-time high because society is unhappy.  To be fair, the Clemson University professor stated that, when cultural unhappiness or economic strife occurs, society looks for outlets to funnel their dissatisfaction.

So if you feel as though you aren't being listened to or your voice isn't being heard by those in charge - you may want to participate in a zombie walk to feed your need for empowerment and happiness again.  Silly me, I thought I was just watching The Walking Dead for enjoyment's sake.

Be sure to download a free zombie ebook available today and tomorrow!  Thanks.

I think, therefore I am not a zombie.... yet

If a zombie infestation actually occurred, would you be able to tell the difference between those individuals who are mentally disturbed or those who are infected?  The virus may lead to breakdowns, heightened fears and anxiety which may lead to mental disturbances.  Will we take the time to figure out the difference?

I believe that it will be every man for himself at the point.

Zombie Lingerie?

I am all for a woman feeling sexy and free enough to express herself.  However, I wonder at what point is the zombie craze going a bit too far?  The other day, my wife told me about some zombie lingerie that she discovered on the internet.  Lingerie?  Zombies?  Those two words somehow don't seem to belong in the same sentence. I'm all for the panties and bras that say amusing zombie quips, but I think the blood soaked clothing and cuts are a little too extreme for 'intimate bedroom attire'.  Anyone else agree or am I alone on this one?

Literary Yoga

Literary Yoga?
One of the most difficult things for me is to decide how to find balance.  Do I work on writing my next novel?  Do I spend time with my family?  Do I work on social media?  Or videos, covers, agents, even strange new tan lines?  Since I still love my day job, I’ve got to find ways to successfully divide my time between the things I have to do and the things I’d like to do.
In my humblish opinion, being successful in today’s publishing world is much different and more complex than any other time in history.  It isn’t necessarily more difficult, as there are so many more venues to showcase authors, but the sheer numbers of authors, publishers, and sites sometimes make it more difficult to be noticed or ‘found’.  While I’ve had decent success as an Indie writer, my goal has always been to become a well-recognized author around the world.  As the party planners for the ‘Historically Famous Author’ parties don’t necessarily care whether my wife and grandmother really love my work, it is important to have a successful platform to build upon.
So, is it more important to work on my writing, my platform, my family, or my mastery of the Fallen Dog yoga positions?  I wish I could say that I use every moment in pursuit of either happiness or success, but the truth is that I probably waste just as much as I spend fruitfully. Since I have a dream, but live within the real world where I’m only given 24 hours a day and hopefully another 40 years of life, my belief is that I have to find a balance (and not the Sleeping Dog kind) that will help me find both happiness and success.
I try to give the taxpayers (who happen to still be willing to pay my monthly bills) an honest day’s work everyday.  I try to spend quality time with my wife and three daughters.  I try to get the proper amount of sleep, relaxation, and exercise (though I seem to fail on all three more than any other area in my life).  I try to keep up with platform building and social media.  AND, I try to make every minute of my writing time count.
For those of you who want to succeed in today’s publishing world, my suggestion is to find a way to practice some form of Literary Yoga.  Spend time with your job, your family, your platform building, and your writing.  Don’t let any of them overwhelm the other, but never neglect any of them either.

Bad Day at Work?

After the day that I had at work, I am pretty sure that we don't have to worry about a zombie apocalypse.  I've determined that, with the current population, the zombies will starve quickly.

Warm Bodies Movie

I took my wife to see Warm Bodies yesterday and I did enjoy it.  I found the internal cognitive banter within the thick skull of the youthful zombie to be refreshing and amusing at times .  My only real regret was that we didn't get a chance to get more of it.  Parts of the movie seemed a little slow, but I must say that all-in-all it was worth the price of admission.  If any of you out there in bloggerland enjoyed this movie you would really enjoy the premise of Shreds of Humanity.   It too has a man struggling between a world he finds himself trapped in and a mental awareness that these instincts were not who he once was.  I have put a link to my trailer - check it out.

Canada Preparing for Zombie Apocalypse

Winnipeg MP Pat Martin asks Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird in the Canadian House Of Commons about ongoing preparations for the Zombie Apocalypse. John Baird promises that Canada will never become a safe haven for zombies, but doesn't go into any specifics as to how zombies will be kept on the US side of the border.

A Montana television station was hacked today and sent out a zombie emergency warning...

Conscious Zombies?

Do you believe that zombies have the ability to experience consciousness?  In my novel, Shreds of Humanity, my zombie struggles between differing states of consciousness due to his infection.  I haven't seen the most recent zombie film yet, Warm Bodies, but the previews seem to suggest this same idea.  This phenomena of zombies having varying states of conscious thoughts is becoming more mainstream, but I was wondering what the blogosphere thought about this idea.

Life-Sized Zombie Card

To those zombie lovers out there looking for something different to give your significant other during this Valentine's day - look no further than BigFunnyCards.com.  This card company offers a new life-size zombie card that stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall.  I personally think I may opt to take my wife to dinner and possibly the movie 'Warm Bodies', but the card is an inventive idea for zombie lovers out there looking for something out of the ordinary.

Super Bowl Commercials

Millions of people are planning to watch the Super Bowl this Sunday.  Unfortunately, my team is out of the mix, so I will watch with great appreciation of the sport but also to see what creative commercials are out there this year.  One of the commercials that we can anticipate is the trailer for World War Z - I have the link to the trailer below.  What do you think - do you plan to watch the movie when it's released this summer?

Zombie Video at the Sundance Film Festival

Zombie Video from the Sundance Film Festival

Apparently there is a lot of drama around this video since Ace Hardware was unaware of the film taking place. You be the judge... is it worth the drama?
